    Greetings NTEN people...

This year we're throwing the doors open to all comers for our biggest, best ever annual 2-day Engaging Networks Community Conference (ENCC) in Washington, DC on October 10th and 11th. We've expanded to a bigger venue and increased the number of breakouts to 40 sessions. Many of our nonprofit clients will present strategy case studies, alongside some of our smartest agency partners and our own team members. While this event celebrates our user community, it also will be a meeting of minds around best practices in digital fundraising, advocacy, marketing automation, AI / machine learning and other strategies for nonprofits.

Even if you're not looking for new digital engagement tools, consider joining us at this year's ENCC to soak up good ideas and resources, while networking (and eating and drinking :) with about 200 colleagues from other organizations.

Registration is $265 and covers everything, but please get in touch if the cost is a barrier for your nonprofit organization.

I hope we will see you at ENCC 2019!

We'll cover definitions, standards, guidelines, as well as images, videos, captions, transcripts, and more. Don't worry about which CMS you're using: creating accessible content is achievable regardless of content management system.

    Hello nonprofiteers!

Mighty Citizen is offering several free webinars this month:

October 8, 2:00 EST (hosted by The Nonprofit Times)
Anatomy of a Nonprofit Website: Why Your Donors Aren't Giving (More) Online
Your website is holding you back.
A growing number of donors are giving online, but there's a good chance your website is giving them reasons to reconsider. Why is your website confusing your current donors? Why is it turning off potential donors? It could be cognitive load, a phrase used to describe an overabundance of information. Or maybe your donation form isn't optimized, making it difficult to move through the donation process. It could even be that you just haven't given them enough reasons to care.
In this session, we'll explore what makes for a successful nonprofit website, from content to user flow to donation thank you pages.

The Donors of Tomorrow: Effective Ways to Engage Young Donors
Young people are our future (donors), but many nonprofits are simply overlooking them. While most resources are allocated to big-dollar donors, you should also have a plan to engage Millennials and (gasp!) Gen Z in your mission to ensure the long-term sustainability of your nonprofit. We'll discuss the perils of ignoring younger audiences when it comes to donor cultivation as well as ways to turn these generations into your future donors. We'll also walk through inspiring real-world examples of how organizations are using dynamic campaigns to reach Millennials and to generate mission-fueling revenue, and how you can incorporate these tactics into your nonprofit.

Last-Minute Touches: Preparing Your Website for Year-End Fundraising
A growing number of donors are giving online, but there's a good chance your website is giving them reasons to reconsider. Is your donation form optimized, making it easy to move through the donation process? In this session, we'll explore how to get your nonprofit website in tip-top shape for end-of-year fundraising. We'll discuss content, user flow, donation thank you pages and everything in between.

Whether moderating online forums, hosting effective webinars or leading challenging team/board/stakeholder calls via phone or video – virtual facilitation is fast becoming a critical skill set today's non-profit professionals are expected to master.

    OFU19 background

The Online Facilitation Unconference (OFU) is an annual learning exchange on the art and practice of virtual facilitation. It will take place October 7–13 as part of International Facilitation Week.

OFU is an unconference, meaning the agenda will emerge based on participants' interests and needs. OFU provides a fun opportunity to share, learn, and connect with colleagues from around the world. We bring together professionals from various backgrounds covering all levels of experience and expertise (some pros, some newbies, and many who fall somewhere in between).

We currently have over 100 people registered from more than 30 countries.

Our "early bird" tickets are very affordably priced at $24.90. In addition, we are proud to offer low/no income options for anyone who might need them (to date, about 15% of our registrants have taken advantage of this opportunity). If you are interested in exploring the exciting world of leading groups in the virtual realm - we really want you to join us and share your perspective!

    Please see Eventbrite for details:

Next week, I've got a free webinar that might interest you:

6 Ways to Make Your Nonprofit's WordPress Site Secure from Getting Hacked
    Tuesday, October 29, 2019 | 10 am - 11 am PDT

If you're an IT leader or part of a nonprofit communications team, your WordPress website updates probably aren't high on the priority list – but they should be.

It's hard to stay on top of the site maintenance but in the back of your mind, you know it needs to be done. But while your site gets left in the dark every month, a hidden security risk grows.

It's a matter of time before your website gets hacked.

The last thing you want added to your list is trying to figure out how to fix a site that's been suddenly hijacked or taken offline.

Your website is an investment that's worth protecting and it's important that your donors and constituents have a consistently positive experience.

There will be a live Q&A session at the end so have yours ready.

On this live webinar, you'll learn:

    • Why strong security is important for WordPress
    • What can happen when your nonprofit's website gets hacked
    • Six practical steps you can take to keep your site protected
    • Bonus tips and security recommendations

This webinar will be hosted by Nonprofit Tech for Good. They focus on providing useful, easy-to-understand news and resources related to nonprofit technology, online communication, and mobile and social fundraising.

Today, with nearly 50,000 monthly visitors and more than one million followers on social networks, Nonprofit Tech for Good is a leading technology resource for nonprofit professionals.
