The Knight Center offers a number of interesting free online courses. I took an information graphics course from them a few years ago and really enjoyed it.

Their upcoming course "Navigating Misinformation: How to identify and verify what you see on the web" struck me as one that members of this community might be interested in. Here's the description:

You'll learn from Claire Wardle, co-founder and leader of First Draft, an organization dedicated to supporting journalists, academics and technologists working to address challenges related to trust and truth in the digital age.

In this four-week course, Wardle will teach you how to effectively debunk information and share information responsibly with others. She'll also teach you about verification tools that can help, and will explain how to use them.

This course is intended for journalists, but it is open to anyone interested in learning about verification of online source material.

This MOOC (massive open online course) can be done on your own time; there are no live activities, so you can work on the weekly modules during the days and times that are most convenient for you.

That sounds a lot like an in-depth version of a 10-episode series Crash Course just finished, "Navigating Digital Information" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLlv2o6UfTU
