Nonprofits and Data

This group is for those interested in learning and sharing about all things data-related for nonprofits. The Nonprofits and Data group is for people using data to serve a mission, either directly or by improving nonprofits and the nonprofit sector. That includes everything from collecting data and managing databases to analytics, data visualization and data mining. Here are some examples of topics we discuss: using data to improve organizational effectiveness, measuring impact, using data for storytelling, tools for data management and analysis, figuring out the “right” data to collect, and learning skills to help us use data better.

NTEN Session Proposal- Data Cleanliness

I'm hoping a couple of you awesome data people will be game for this.

I'm interested in doing a tactical session at NTEN about tips and tricks to keep data clean. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in being a co-presenter? Though there are standard cleanup needs across all orgs, I'm used to cleaning data for the Raiser's Edge platform. I'd really like to have people who're coming from a different cleanup perspective than mine.

I remember a lot of questions in sessions about what specifically a presenter does to clean data, how to maintain it, and get other staff buy-in. When NTEN announced tactical sessions I figured this was a perfect topic for it.
