BoaF Board Games

    Hi all!!!

Did I read a post that there would be board games at some of the tables during/after lunch? Although I enjoy all things tech, I'm old school and really enjoy a good board game!

    Thank you!

    Patrice:

Not sure about in general, but I am running one of the Birds of a Feather tables at lunch on the Thursday for Board Gamers. I certainly will be bringing a couple to play during lunch, although feel free to bring some too.

(I also often bring a few small quick games in my bag around if there's anyone who feels like playing something simple like a Zombie Dice or Fluxx or something).

If I had another bag I'd bring all my D&D gear and run a session... maybe in a future year :)

    Thanks Kirk and Michael!

I'm looking forward to it. I may stick some Uno cards in my bag too although, it isn't a board game, it can definitely get a party started!

    See you all soon!

Would love a D&D session. But it is going to boil down to camera or D&D gear and camera is going to win this year.

Will toss some card games in though.

Any good game shops that should be checked out while in Portland?

    Patrice and Kirk,

    Great idea!

I've got to go and dig up a few good games I haven't played in a long time.

Less room in my suitcase though. So I'm leaving the D&D stuff home as well.

Looking forward to a few rounds of whatever.

    Take care,

How would you all feel about doing a community meetup together at Game Knight Lounge or another board game cafe/suitable place on Wednesday night?

@Amanda Kirdulis that sounds fun too - would you be willing to add it to the community doc so it gets more visibility and folks can sign up?

I added the event to the Community Doc.

Ok, so the Game Night Lounge got back to me:

We are all booked up [on Wednesday, March 13th] for reservations. All seating will be first come first serve. If you plan to come at 5ish, you should be able find tables but we plan to fill up after that due to our monthly LGBTQ event. If you would like to book another day let me know, if not then we will see you Wednesday.

I can go over there right after the 3:15pm - 4:30pm Breakout Sessions to claim at least one table. It would be helpful if folks headed there after the sessions so that we can claim another/more table(s) if need be.

    The Lounge is Wheelchair Accessible.

Additional gold from Yelp: It has Gender Neutral Restrooms. Yay!

Glad to connect with other board gamers who will be there next week!

I will aim to be there for the Thursday board gamers BOF. I will also come Wednesday night at the Game Knight lounge, although I won't get there until 7 pm or so. I added a sign up section to the event in the Community Google doc. Thanks for your organizing, Amanda!
